Dodgers defeat rival Bathurst in extra innings

The Dalhousie Dodgers continued to strengthen their lead in the RCIBL standings as they defeated second place Bathurst 3-2 in 8 innings Friday night in Dalhousie.

The game was highlighted by a pitchers duel between Dodgers hurler Andrew Carter and Bathurst's Shane Couture. Both pitcher went all 8 innings for there club with the first runs of the ball game coming in the sixth inning as Bathurst scored two. Dalhousie was quick to respond as they scored two in the bttom of the sixth off the bat of Carter to tie the game. in the top of the 8th Dalhousie was able to escape a bases loaded no out jam, as Alex Winton executed a 4-2-3 double play, followed a strikeout by Carter. Carter would help is own cause in the end as he drove in Corey Parker in the bottom of the 8th to win on walkoff.

Dalhousie returns to action Monday as they travel to Bathurst in a rematch of Friday nights game.
